The best option for your smile is always your natural teeth. When preventive measures are not enough or you experience an unexpected dental emergency that results in a lost tooth, Surprise Lake Dental provides affordable dental implants completed by our knowledgeable and experienced Dr. Sungyoun Han and Dr. Ken Shou.
Missing teeth can cause all sorts of dental complications, from tooth movement to jaw misalignment. Missing a tooth can also change the aesthetic appearance of your smile, which can lower self-confidence. Dental implants aim to restore the functionality and appearance of your teeth for life-changing results.
A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that is surgically placed in the jawbone at the location of the missing tooth. By replacing the missing tooth root, the implant provides a stable foundation for the replacement tooth and ensures that the restoration is lasting and lifelike. After the placement of the implant post, our dentists and team attach a restoration such as a dental crown, dental bridge, partial denture or complete denture on top to fully restore your smile’s health, appearance and function. With dental implants, you will be able to chew and eat comfortably, speak clearly, and smile confidently.
We are dedicated to providing you with the best possible care and results each time you visit our office. To accomplish this goal, we constantly update our office with the latest techniques and technology. We are pleased to offer computer-guided implant surgery, which is one of these state-of-the-art treatments. As the name suggests, this treatment utilizes computer software and computed tomography (CT) 3D imaging to aid in the placement of the dental implants. This helps to ensure that we achieve accurate, optimal placement for a tooth replacement that is strong and long lasting.
Surprise Lake Dental uses a digital scanner in Milton, Washington, to take detailed images of your mouth. These 3D pictures allow Dr. Sungyoun Han and Dr. Ken Shou to provide more accurate treatment. Our dentists and team use a digital scanner to take 3D images of the inside of your mouth. This state-of-the-art technology works to capture detailed images of your teeth and supporting structures in full color, allowing our dentists to distinguish between healthy and diseased tissue. Using the images captured by our digital scanner, we can more quickly and accurately diagnose problems, create digital models and plan treatments to improve your oral health. The digital models also help ensure that any restorations or oral appliances you may receive will fit and function properly for you.
Digital scanning is a quick and comfortable process. Our dentists or a member of our hygiene team will insert a small wand into your mouth. This wand is easily maneuverable and will capture images as it passes over your teeth to provide an immediate, comprehensive and detailed view of your teeth and mouth. The scanning process can be stopped and started as needed, and the wand can be removed from your mouth if you feel uncomfortable. Pictures taken by the scanner are backed up every few seconds so that you will not need to sit through a second scan.
Are you tried of traditional dentures? Surprise Lake Dental offers implant-supported dentures in Milton, Washington. Using our computer-guided implant system, this oral appliance is held in place by dental implants for a comfortable and permanent fit. Schedule a consultation with our dentists and team today by calling 253-922-5401 to learn more about our options and see how Dr. Sungyoun Han and Dr. Ken Shou can help you restore your smile.
Much like traditional dentures, implant-supported dentures are used to replace multiple missing teeth. However, this type of denture is a permanent oral appliance installed using dental implants. This fixed dental restoration offers a solution to the “loose” feeling experienced by patients who use traditional dentures and is a cost-effective way to regain your smile without the hassle of a removable oral appliance.
Implant-supported dentures use four to six dental implants to anchor the dentures in place. The implants are surgically attached to the jawbone and, once healed, are used to provide unmoving stability to the dentures. The dentures themselves are custom tailored to fit your mouth and look and function like natural teeth.
Since dental implant placement requires oral surgery, patients who are interested in implant-supported dentures should expect multiple dental appointments with our dentists to help ensure their implants are healing properly and that the dentures function as they should. Our dentists will discuss personalized treatment plans with each patient individually to help you know what to expect during the process.
